Welcome to Greet the Moment Cards
Hi, we're Bill and Karen
We started Greet the Moment Cards as a hobby. We sold cards and photos at local craft shows every fall for several years. Bill has always loved photography so we were using photos we already had at first.
After some encouragement from a friend we began selling our cards at the Bay and Bloor Indigo. Time to get serious! We started buying flowers and taking photos specifically for the cards. We enjoy getting creative, trying bunches of flowers in different vases, using different backgrounds. Our dining room table serves as a photo studio.
The photos on the Serenity cards were nearly all taken during vacations at Rice Lake, Ontario. Bill gets up very early to get the sunrise shots. It's amazing how the light can change in just a few minutes.
"Winter in Toronto Parks" is an ongoing project. We try to add new parks each year. Unfortunately snow does not always fall when Bill has time to get out and take pictures. So many parks, so little time!
The birds featured on the notecards were also photographed in local parks.
The Christmas Notecards are made with photos of vintage ornaments that have been in the family all my life. Some are made of delicate glass, others plastic, but all have great sentimental value.
We make photomount cards rather than having them printed so we can have a wide variety of cards and easily introduce new ones. We also love the richness of colour that printed photos provide.
Most of our images have very little editing but some have quite a bit. We view editing software as a creative tool that can enhance our photos. It is especially handy for fixing damage to individual petals or leaves when flowers are a little past their prime. We also use the software to add phrases such as "Happy Birthday" to some of the images since all the cards are blank inside.
We hope you enjoy our cards.
